NJ.com reporter Darryl Slater reports on Darrelle Revis’ recovery from wrist surgery and how it may impact the upcoming NFL season.
He speaks with Aaron Daluiski, MD, a hand and upper extremity surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery, who has not treated or examined Revis nor was privy to details of Revis’ specific injury or surgery.
An expert in the field, Dr. Daluiski said that it's likely Revis hurt one of the wrist’s primary ligaments. "The amount of symptoms that people have are variable, it is possible to have a complete ligament injury, and have the initial six weeks of pain that is associated with any sprain or ligament injury. And then they kind of fall into this position where it's really not that painful or dysfunctional for them – until arthritis sets in many years later."
